Job Description
Job Summary: Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses or chemical experiments in laboratories for quality or process control or to develop new products or knowledge.

Responsibility:

Provide overall direction and guidance in the smooth and effective running of chemical plants.
Supervise work of chemical plant operations to achieve the quality of work. Coordinate with Shift Charge Engineer/Supervisor during unit start-up, shutdown, and normal running of the plant and maintain the chemistry under his control in the round-the-clock shift.
Make preparation and carry out the acid cleaning of Desalination plants and hypo plants under the supervision of the Chief Chemist whenever required.
Follow up the annual maintenance & carry out troubleshooting in chemical plants and follow day-to-day maintenance as per defect reports.

Maintain chemical consumption records
Monitor all chemical parameters and enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book.
Prepare monthly reports and other reports pertaining to the area under his supervision
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Management system principles should well converse with Power/Desalination Operational activities in Chemical Lab.
