POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent is accountable for the EPC management of the 2x 70,000MT NH3 tanks Scope for the NEOM HELIOS Green Fuels Project. This scope is defined as the flawless EPC execution and safe start-up of the NH3 tanks, ensuring effective interface management for all interface points at battery limit. The incumbent will be a key team member of the overall Project team.

This project is part of the largest and most complex capital project for Air Products. It will be the first industrial-scale mega electrolyzer project providing a green energy carrier around the world to contribute to the decarbonization of the industry. The high criticality of the package is derived from the size and value of the project and the strategic element as core to the NEOM Helios Green Fuel project. Accountability includes strategic and tactical matters associated with project execution and continues through start-up and commissioning.

The incumbent must possess advanced proficiency in package management skills and knowledge, along with excellent communication and influencing skills. The role requires significant interaction with our supplier and execution. The project is executed utilizing global capabilities, necessitating a robust cross-cultural competency. The incumbent has also required to poses a minimum of 15 years in the Ammonia industry with a focus on operational excellence.

Focus and experience in NH3 tanks EPC execution, and a good understanding of NH3 tank w/ engineering interfaces; lead to executing safety, schedule, and quality.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

The role requires an experienced Engineer who has executed, large-scale NH3 tank (single-walled full concrete containment) EPC projects with experience in commissioning, start-up, and operations. The required candidate is also required to have experience in construction quality control.
The role will initially include pre-EPC contract award scope alignment and will then move on to support in managing selected EPC contractors. The role will then move to a site-based role supporting the construction, commissioning, and start-up of the tanks.
During the engineering stage, the incumbent will likely be required to be based at the tank contractors' engineering offices.

BED & DED Phase :
Support in schedule reviews and bring in experience from previous projects.
Support constructability sequence reviews.
NH3 tank Pre-award comprehensive bid evaluation, contract scope finalization, utilizing previous relevant experience.
Technical support (pre & post-award) Commissioning, hydro testing, and purging: Create/review procedures for these activities.
Tank cooldown (pre & post-award): Uniform cooling of such large diameter tanks ensured. Create/review procedures for these activities.
Safety and hazard protection systems (pre & post-award), define and work with AP safety lead to define requirements based on industry standards.
Emergency procedures (pre & post-award) – for minor /major leaks from the tank.
HAZOP attendance
Responsible for EPC contractor Interface management
Technical support for cost negotiations, change order claims, etc.
Ammonia storage and export jetty operational knowledge to ensure functional optimization, and robust safety is implemented within engineering design.
Guidance on maintenance requirements and ensuring the design facilitates these regularly planned activities

Construction Support
Tank preservation protocol/handover.
Tank construction quality compliance checks and procedures.
MC handover requirements.
Start-up procedure.
Construction sequencing support especially around interfaces.
Loading pump constructability and interface with NH3 tank contractor

General Duties
Lead and supervise the design, procurement, and turnover activities for the assigned projects: approve the resolution of technical questions and/or concerns during the design, implementation, construction, and start-up stages
Assist development of effective construction execution plans;
Accommodate and coordinate expert AP input to the EPC Contractors’ designs at the appropriate times; Coordinate assigned activities with those of other projects and organizations as required;
Monitor the progress of the Project Deliverables in accordance with the approved schedule. Identifying potential problems/risks with the same and making mitigating recommendations;
Analyze problems, identify and approve alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of project goals and objectives in all stages of the Project;
Maintain risk plan to ensure minimization of risks through early identification, planning, and selection of best possible contracting strategies and proactive Project Management practices which focus on the prevention of problems
Monitor the progressive cost of the project against approved budgets. Identify potential problems with same and make mitigating recommendations;
Assure those project deliverables from the EP Stage are complete and of high quality for use during the Fabricating, Module Assembly, Constructing, and Operating Stages of the Project;
Provide an effective interface to the multiple project stakeholders including Project
lessons-learned program by supervising the implementation of approved learnings, as well as recording those lessons learned during the execution of projects;
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Post-Secondary Engineering Degree, along with +15 years of Ammonia tanks and process plant experience.
The self-motivated, proactive individual who can work independently as well as in a team environment.

Field Experience required.
