Overview
Saudi Aramco is seeking for a Senior Engineer to join their Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC). We are looking for professionals to conduct upstream research in the productivity enhancement Focus Area within the Production Technology Team. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to leading-edge technology development in order to increase recovery, improve operational efficiency and reduce cost. The successful candidate will be responsible for R&D tasks, such as introducing stimulation technologies by identifying company needs, setting tool/fluids requirements, designing innovative solutions, managing product development collaborations, field testing new products, and technology commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
Engage in multi-disciplinary teams to identify well-stimulation challenges and provide solutions to fill the technology gaps. Initiate technology development proposals
Design and draft different stimulation treatments under an integrated platform of fluid placement, well completion, reservoir geology, and fluid selection
Develop and prototype new good stimulation technology in the context of good completion (MSF, plug & perf, acid tunneling)
Design and run lab experiments to evaluate new stimulation/fracturing technologies. Familiarity with core flooding, rheological measurements, and advanced material characterization
Perform business case analysis for the need to develop new products. Expertise in modeling different stimulation processes using finite element/finite difference analysis is a plus. Analyze large datasets, preferably using ML codes to develop predictive models
Install and trial test new technologies in the field. Implement full-scale deployment of high-impact technologies
Write and publish technical papers and patent applications.
Prepare and present technical talks to a highly technical audience.
Minimum Requirements
Hold a master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical engineering/mechanical engineering, or related discipline. The Ph.D. degree is a plus
Have A minimum of 5-10 years of related experience with demonstrated skills in design and R&D of well stimulation/fracturing and stimulation tools development
Have an intensive knowledge of the different types of good stimulations from planning, designing, and execution points of view. The expertise in the different fluid systems/stimulation completions
Skills in evaluating well performance pre and post-stimulation
Expertise in simulating acid fracturing, proppant fracturing, and matrix acidizing to optimize the design
The candidate should be an independent thinker to apply knowledge gained from industry and academia to generate practical solutions in upstream oil and gas production
Have a history of technical publications and patents
