Job Description
POSITION: QC /QC Mechanical Engineer

REPORTING TO: QA/QC Manager

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT: Facilitating the development, operation, maintenance, and inspection requirements of the project QA/QC, Safety, and Environmental plans.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

• Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities on site.
• Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes a Non-Conformance report and reports it to the QC Manager.
• Checks all on-site Mechanical systems and perform the required testing as per project specs.
• Collaborates on the update of as-built drawings.
• Performs punch-listing operations.
• Checks all MEP-related works, including but not limited to Ductworks, plumbing, pumps, valves, firefighting systems, etc.
• Prepare all site Activity Methods of statements.
• Performs visual inspections, dimensional tests, checks rating and material for connection.
• Performs tests of continuity and insulation resistance.
• Prepare and implement all testing and commissioning schedules.
• Calibrates safety valves and instruments.
• Checks installation of instruments.
• Performs functionalities tests.
• Verify special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications.
• Witness the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
• Material receiving inspection (MIR) and Traceability carried out as per Drawing and specification.
• Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls, and inspections, and manage documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections.
• Initiate and ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan ITP.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Required:
• 7-14 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice, and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work
• Good interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
• MS Office literate.

Preferred:
• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience working in a Building Construction Company with site experience.
• Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001-2015 implementation.
• Self-motivated and independent.
