Parsons's extensive experience combined with your attention to detail and skill with account analysis, account reconciliations, and financial reports, will propel your career forward. At this level, the Manager collects and analyzes data, relates data to established guidelines, and evaluates the significance of the collected data. In this role, you will complete the most difficult and complex assignments requiring specialized training and experience in the field of insurance related to engineering and construction contracts. You may be assigned to a specific project, to a section of Finance or another department, or may be assigned to complete tasks at a field location. Our Managers s provide supervision of and technical guidance to lower level Risk Management support personnel. This position requires domestic and international travel. Occasionally, assignments may extend over a two-week period away from home.
Responsibilities:
Communicates, interfaces, and coordinates with Finance personnel, Project Managers, Accounts Payable personnel, Accounts Receivable personnel, Contracts personnel, DCAA auditors, Talent Management, senior management, and other professional staff in a professional and cooperative manner to resolve difficult and complex insurance-related issues.
Collects and analyzes data, relates data to established guidelines, and evaluates the significance of the collected data. Presents conclusions and makes recommendations by analyzing facts and conditions, and makes recommendations for corrective actions or improvements.
Interprets regulations and technical materials for the application of technical guidelines, and translates the guidelines into specific actions.
Presents technical information in written form.
Provides a persuasive explanation of decisions, procedures, and requirements to gain a favorable response.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Economics (or equivalent)
20+ years of related work experience in the insurance industry, with 15+ years in the engineering and construction field
An MBA is preferred.
Experience in dealing with various types of difficult and complex projects/contracts (e.g., firm fixed price, fixed price with an economic price adjustment, fixed-price incentive, cost reimbursement, cost sharing, cost plus incentive fee, cost plus award fee, cost plus fixed fee, and time and material) is desired.
Requires expert knowledge of established principles and accepted practices of insurance and surety techniques and principles, as well as a thorough knowledge of matters related to engineering and construction projects.
Incumbents must have excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software.
The ability to perform in a lead capacity is also required.
Must be able to work effectively if on extended business travel.
Superior analytical skills with the ability to understand regulations, contracts, business processes and controls, and policy and procedures.
Proven ability to work effectively alone, as a team member, or as a team leader.
Must be highly organized and able to meet schedules established.
Supports the team unity concept and creates an atmosphere of cooperation in the completion of assignments.
