Job title: Planning Senior Engineer (SPL)

Project Duration: 15 Months (Extendable)

Project Location: KSA, Jubail Ind -II

Mission

To execute and or manage & supervise the activities pertaining to the planning/reporting within a Project of any size and complexity, under the supervision of the Project Control Manager, in full compliance with the Contract, the Company’s quality requirements, and Project Execution Plan, WBS, and Schedules. To be accountable for the control, guidance, supervision, and monitoring of the day-to-day activities of the Planning team.

Main Activities & Responsibilities

In particular, the Senior Planning Engineer is responsible to deliver, during the proposal and execution phase of the project, the:

HOME OFFICE
• Full support and guidance to the planning engineers in initializing the project control tools as per the Company’s procedures;

• Leadership in the preparation of the whole set of planning procedures (WBS, schedules, progress measurement system, etc. ) by structuring necessary logic/data in full compliance with the Contract Scope of Work and Company standards;

• Preparation of the project control planning documents (Milestones Plan, 90 days Schedule, WBS, Top-Down Schedule, Project Control Schedule, Project detailed Schedule, Progress Curves, Reporting, Manpower Histograms) of competence in compliance with the Project/Contract requirements under the supervision of the Project Control Manager;

• Review/issue all planning reports, outputs, and presentations assuring consistency amongst them;

• Development of the Schedule Narrative/Basis of Assumptions tracking, among the others, any deviation from the Baseline in terms of activities (added/removed), logic/relationships, critical paths, and assuring the quality check of the CPM;

• Performance of the periodical schedule control by means of time now technique, assess physical progress of the project, forecast the predicted completion evidencing any deviations towards the approved baselines, and proposing the corrective actions/workaround solution for project considerations;

• Monitoring and controlling manhour expenditure and productivity trends;

• Organization and execution of periodical meetings for across-the-table review of important matters e.g. Feasibility curves, Ordering, Equipment/ material deliveries, etc. and to facilitate decision making;

• Identification of, analyses and monitoring of schedule deviations for assigned disciplines or specialties including subcontractor submittals and recommends corrective action/work-around solutions for project considerations;

• Guidance of the subcontracting team to finalize the Contractual schedules/ Milestones with the subcontractors;

• Support to the Project Team in performing the Schedule Risk Analysis by running the appropriate company software to determine the schedule reliability;

• Full interaction with the Client’s Planning representative;

• Full interaction with the all relevant Company Departments, Client and Vendors representatives to timely gather all the necessary information/data for the topics of competence planning related;

• Analysis of the time impact of the Potential changes/claims (to the Contract/Subcontract/Purchase Orders requirement) and support to the PM/ Contract management/Subcontracting management/Subcontracting Purchasing Management to decide the path forward;

• Assistance and support to the Contract Management team for any delay and schedule impact analysis;

• Full and autonomous knowledge of all the necessary Company Tools such as Primavera P6, Milemate! Schedule Risk Analysis, Acumen Fuse, TPMS, etc.

SITE OFFICE
• Preparation of all field project planning activities in accordance with the Company’s procedures and PCM’s instructions;

• To closely work with Construction Sub-contractor during the development of their Contract Level 3 & 4 Schedules and manpower histograms to ensure compliance with all Project Milestones, critical interfaces and adherence to the Project Control Procedures;

• Check of the feasibility of construction schedules with the scheduled deliveries of documentation, materials and updated information received from Home Office;

• Constantly monitoring of the performance of Subcontractors in terms of efficiency, progress and resources;

• Coordination with material controller to support both information for construction feasibility and Material Control for Construction;

• Collection, at project completion, all data and information necessary for future development of the Company’s database and proper filling of the Project Close-out report;

• Managing of the planning activities even without direct supervision in case of small size EPC project.

As a member of the Planning department, the duties of the Planning Senior Engineer are to:

Provide feedback to the Responsible of planning services about problems/deviations arising from application of standard methods, work instructions and tools, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department
Train and support the assigned Planning/ Planning & Reporting Junior Engineers
Keep himself/herself up to date about the technical specific improvement of the discipline.
