Cost Engineer

Job Description
OBJECTIVE

Cost Engineers are able to analyze the requirements and specifications of a project and determine the cost involved to launch the project.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY

Collects, monitors, analyzes, and reports all cost information through the Project Manager. Review and analyze all claims and Change Orders on project contracts.
Participate in the negotiation of project contracts as required
Initiates appropriate action when the total forecast indicates allocated funds will be exceeded
Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates Recommend ways to make a product more cost-effective or profitable Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training
Relevant and similar experience in project estimating and cost controlling preferably
Experience: 5-10 years in the same field
Knowledge of the use of MS Project, spreadsheets, and SAP software
Superb communication and presentation skills Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
